故事發生在多年前的一天
澳洲青年Juan Mann回到他的家鄉澳洲所發生的事

當我 (Juan) 住在英國倫敦的時後，我的世界混亂且該回家的時侯，當飛機抵達澳洲雪梨巿，我所有的，只是一個裝滿衣物包包和全世界煩惱，沒有一個人歡迎我回來，沒有家中電話號碼可打，當時活像是個外國觀光客走在自己出生，成長的國家。
站在機場入境處，看著其他旅客與等待他們的朋友和家人，再次重逢，微笑的臉龐與張開雙手，一起歡笑著相互擁抱，我也要有人在那等著我，很高興的見到我。
因此在垃圾桶那找到一片紙箱板，用一支筆寫下一張標語 FREE HUGS (不要錢的擁抱)。
我在城巿中找到一處擁擠的人行步道十字路口，雙手高舉過頭，那二面都寫著有FREE HUGS (不要錢的擁抱)紙板。
大約15分鐘後，人們開始走向我，第一位陌生人雙手擁抱著我，她一手拍著我的肩膀，並告訴我說: 她心愛的狗在早上死掉，而今天也是她唯一的女兒意外車禍喪生的第一年紀念日，當時的她最需要的是什麼呢?
她是全世界所遺忘留下來之中，那最些孤單無助的人，她最需耍的只是一個擁抱，當時我單腳跪下(她身高只到我胸部)，我們的雙手相互深緊擁抱身體緊連著，她笑了………………
任何人都會面對存在的問題，連我都沒有辦法相互比較，但是如果能看到任何曾經愁眉苦臉不快樂的人，那怕那只是短暫的，它的價值是永遠與永恆的。
為何它被禁止?
